Edge of care
Multi-agency safeguarding
Disruption planning
Professional consultation and case review
Good safeguarding practice requires more than identifying risk. It requires understanding what is happening, why it is happening, how the child experiences it, what is maintaining the risk and what can realistically change it.

Purposeful intervention
Professional curiosity
Multi-agency coordination
Disruption opportunities
Review and learning
Complex exploitation and missing
Experience includes work with adolescents where repeated missing, peer relationships, exploitation indicators and wider contextual risk required coordinated assessment, relationship-based engagement and practical disruption planning.
Substance misuse and safeguarding
Experience includes work where substance use intersected with vulnerability, offending, exploitation and family circumstances, requiring safeguarding-focused assessment and coordination rather than treating substance use in isolation.
Complex adolescent safeguarding
Experience includes high-risk adolescent cases requiring professional curiosity, clear formulation, multi-agency challenge, direct intervention and review of whether existing plans were sufficiently addressing the child's lived experience.
